ADC holds Lagos congress, elects new leaders - Punch NewspapersThe African Democratic Congress in Lagos State elected new state executives during its congress held on Wednesday.

The executives were elected from all 20 local government areas of the state in accordance with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act 202.

A statement made available to newsmen partly read, “The congress was a festival of internal democracy as party delegates rose to the occasion and elected Lagos State executives.”

Presidential hopeful on the platform of the party, Kingsley Moghalu, who spoke at the congress, expressed satisfaction at the conduct of the election.

He also charged party members to go all out to engage electorates in Lagos and sell the party, as it was “ADC o’clock.”

On his part, the state Chairman-elect, Mr George Ashiru, commended the various local government chairmen, party members, delegates and the Congress Steering Committee for living up to the values of the party in their conduct of the delegate congress.

He also expressed confidence in the capacity of party members to win elections in Lagos State going forward, stressing that the party is now adequately positioned to provide better leadership for Lagosians.

The congress, which was held at Logos Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, was well attended by party members, national officers, aspirants in Lagos State, and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
