Atiku arrives Abeokuta, in closed-door meeting with Obasanjo

The newly-elected presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is currently in a closed-door meeting with the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Atiku was the former Vice-President to Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007.

He arrived the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex, Abeokuta at 1.09pm.

On Atiku’s entourage are the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus,  his campaign director,  Otunba Gbenga Daniel,  Senator Murray Bruce, and a former Cross River State governor,  Liyel Imoke among others.

The meeting is not unconnected with Atiku’s presidential ambition in 2019.

Leaders from the Yoruba socio-cultural group,  Afenifere had earlier visited Obasanjo on Tuesday allegedly to prepare a soft-landing for Atiku in Abeokuta, considering the frosty relationship between him and his host.
