Reality TV actress, Chika Lann, was in the news earlier in the year when she stated that her hairdo was worth N40m. Many people didn’t believe her as they felt she was just an attention seeker but Lann insisted that the hairstyle cost that much.
During the week, Lann also created a buzz on social media when she uploaded videos of her giving a sweeper a cheque. A lot of people also commented that the act was a publicity stunt.
However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Chika maintained that she had no ulterior motives for showing kindness to the lady in question. She said, “I asked people to make a wish on my Instagram page and I was moved by her request. Her contract as a road sweeper will expire this month and she didn’t know what to do after that. Also, I liked her because she is a cheerful person and I was moved to help her. I believe God blesses us so that we can bless other people. I may not be able to change the world but I can touch the lives of certain people I come in contact with.”
Insisting that she would not disclose the amount she gave the sweeper, Lann said, “It was not a publicity stunt. You know I shoot a reality show and cameras are usually recording everything I do. I didn’t even want to post the video on my Instagram page but my team advised me to do so, saying that the gesture would inspire others to do good deeds too.”
